After meeting with simon moriss we descoverd that the chosen theme was not suitable for the need of the show.
We booked filming dates for 30th april for editing and submission in subsiquant weeks. I met the artist i could profile for my piece on alevel art who had a very dark and abstract style.
Moving on from thisw we descovered that a new style needed to be adapted for the overall branding of the show
I believe the product fulfils the brief set by the client to market the show as it provides a more visual involved part of the show. It would be almost a keepsake for those involved as it will be sent out to families involved in the show so would hold a greater sentimental value then members of the general public.
What happens if i cant do what i want Having talked to the tutors involved with the show i have discovered they are very happy to take part in a video and know some students will be happy to take part. Though of course this is not a garauntee that it will be the case, so in light of this i have two plans for my Video project. 1) The key proposal - With student participation and Diolauge 2) No student participation - they appear on camera but dont speak a voice over will keep continuity 3) No student on camera demonstration of techniques showing only hands. I’m also aware that college polices dictate rules on students appearing on video and publicity and that this is inforced by law. So it is of paramount importance to meet with marketing as early as possible to understand whats possible and what isnt. The distrobution of the dvd also is limited due to budgetary constraints and may or may not be freely distributable

I propose to create a DVD product containing a small film on “the lead up to the show” including a few student interviews and spotlights on students and their work. I also intend to show some of the work in a video format as almost to take-away from the showcase. I wanted it to be less promotional and more reflective on the time spent on making the work. I think it would help the audience appreciate the context and more importantly the significance of the pieces to the artist. Placed on a DVD its away from the event and is almost a moment to the families of the artist of one of their first exhibitions.
other video work created for the event may be able to be placed on the disc. Another opportunity is that the DVD could be used as a ticket sent out with a pack of information about the show.
